Conference Goals

Upon completion the learner will be able to:

1 Describe the signs, symptoms and current issues concerning Smith-Lemli-Opitz Syndrome (SLOS).
2 Identify metabolic disorders screened in ND.
3 Identify and manage emergency care for specific metabolic diseases.
4 Facilitate and strengthen relationships between the health care professionals and the family support professionals.
5 Identify resources available for families.
6 Describe the importance of a family history concerning a patient’s healthcare plan.
7 Identify legislative impacts on healthcare.
8 Identify families’ struggles through the process of finding the diagnosis.
9 Identify services available through North Dakota’s Genetics Program.
10 Identify the diagnostic approach with a child who has dysmorphic features.
